MEET THE FOUNDER
Alexis Anvekar MD, ABIHM
FOUNDER · THE LIVING METHOD™
Throughout my 25-year career, I've noticed an increase in my patients reporting vague symptoms despite having nothing in their labs to account for their symptoms. During the same time, my teen son suffered a traumatic sports related brain injury and both my mother and grandmother passed from Alzheimer's. I dedicated myself to figuring out how to listen to the subtle signals that drive disease — in the brain first, because that's where my family was hurting, and then everywhere else.
The tests doctors use to screen for dementia are too basic and they cannot detect early disease. As a result, by the time a patient is diagnosed, the window to treat is already closing. I realized that I needed to stop waiting for a diagnosis. Without that constraint, I was free to put my 25 years of experience and decades of being a mother, daughter and granddaughter to the task. It was then when I realized that the secret was in the subtle, and nearly invisible, signals themselves and, with a mathematical formula designed to weigh, norm and calculate them based on longevity science, I realized that a pattern would develop that would illuminate the main signals. The pattern itself can be treated.
This is a step to a healthier you--a healthier us. It is for my mother, your children, and everyone in between.

Dr. Alexis Anvekar was raised in Salt Lake City, Utah and was not allowed to attend college due to her gender. She left home at age 17 and enrolled in a local community college. She was a homeless student off and on for most of her college years. She worked full time throughout college, took on leadership roles to have tuition reductions, and took several breaks in school to take second jobs.
She eventually graduated with honors from both University of California, San Diego and Keck School of Medicine at USC.
She was the only student in her medical school who was awarded USC's very highest honor. Dr. Anvekar also was nationally recognized as "the most promising female physician-in-training in the country" with an award presented to her by the American Medical Women's Association (AMWA).
Her leadership roles during her education years included SLCC Vice President and Editor of Student Newspaper, Medical School Class President, Medical School Co-Editor of Student Newspaper, Committee of Interns and Residents Southern California Chapter Vice-President, Los Angeles Chapter President, National Chapter Vice-President, Co-Founder of Student Organization for the Medical Awareness of AIDS, and creator of a curriculum in USC Medical School that continued decades after she graduated, Delegate for American Medical Association (AMA) and American Medical Women's Association (AMWA).
As a senior at the medical school, she was invited along with the top 0.01% of graduating seniors to complete a coveted leadership fellowship called the USC Presidential Fellowship run by USC's Marshall School of Business.
When in residency, Dr. Anvekar met regularly with politicians in Los Angeles, Sacramento, and Washington, D.C. as an ambassador of the LAC+USC Medical Center and ally of the Angelinos in all walks of life served by LAC+USC.
She has been practicing since 2001 and was amongst the first in California to start a personalized type of healthcare service that mirrors the old ways of practicing medicine, now known as concierge medicine.
Awards include Top Docs, Most Compassionate Doctor Award (given to top 3% nationwide physicians), Patient's Choice Award (given to top 6% nationwide physicians), America's Most Honored Professionals Award, LA Magazine's Top Doctors Award, Pasadena Magazine Top Docs Award, America's Best Physicians Award and Who's Who Among Women Entrepreneurs.
Being active in her community and fostering a love for charity in her children is a priority to Dr. Anvekar. She Co-Founded a group called "Kids for Change." This is a group of amazing local families who introduce their children to charity by purchasing, cooking and serving meals to the 50+ homeless men, women and children of the Union Station Homeless Services Family Center one dinner a month since 2010 until the children all left for college.
In an effort to do her part in furthering science education, she served as Chair of the Science Fair at her local elementary and middle schools from 2011 to 2017 with some students advancing to national competitions. In 2009 she founded Wild 4 Science, an after school enrichment program aimed at fostering a lifelong love for science in young children. Dr. Anvekar believes that by introducing children to the fun and creativity in science at an early age, they are more likely to enjoy and succeed in science in the future.
Dr. Anvekar is proud to serve on the Board of Song For Charlie, a non-profit saving lives by education countless young people all over the world about the fentanyl crisis.
She loves spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys photography as her primary hobby and maintains roots in the mountains of her home state, Utah.
