CogSpan™ IS THE LIFESPAN
OF YOUR
HEALTHY BRAIN

AND
YOUR PROMISE
TO YOUR FAMILY

The CogSpan™ System measures your intrinsic capacity — the physical and mental reserve that decides how you'll live at 80.

Our patent-pending pattern-recognition system looks inside The Silent Gap™, the pre-disease window most checkups miss, so we can act while there's still time to preserve it.

It is a biological age reading with an address: not one number for your whole body, but ten scores that show which system is aging faster than you are.

Americans over 65 is living with Alzheimer's dementia.

By the time it's diagnosed, The Silent Gap™ has closed and 30–60% of neurons may already be lost.

Every parent or grandparent with Alzheimer's has a story that began 10–25 years before the diagnosis. Dr. Alexis Anvekar calls this window The Silent Gap™. The signals were there, including signs of brain inflammation, but traditional healthcare had no way to detect them.

Traditional medicine can't see the subtle signs of brain aging until the window to act is closing.

We can.

Our patent-pending system was built to detect and treat The Silent Gap™.

The CogSpan™ System looks for the modifiable, treatable signs that can come 10–25 years before a dementia diagnosis, while you're still inside The Silent Gap™.

What we check

Why Get a
Living Method CogSpan™ Physical
even when you don't feel sick?
They ask very different questions.

Keep your traditional physical annually. It asks,

"Are you sick?
And
is your preventive care
up to date?"

Add your CogSpan™ Physical annually. It asks,

"What is your body and brain
capacity right now?
And how do we
preserve it?"

Tier 1

Measure your health while it is still yours to shape.

Many of the changes that eventually lead to diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cognitive decline, frailty and other age-related conditions begin years or decades before a diagnosis can be made.

Don’t wait for disease to show up in your health story. Prevent it in the earliest stages.

We call this The Silent Gap™: the window between feeling healthy and developing recognizable disease. During this time:

  • Laboratory results may remain inside broad “normal” ranges

  • Insulin resistance may begin before glucose becomes abnormal

  • Muscle and cardiovascular fitness may decline before daily function changes

  • Cognitive performance may shift before symptoms become obvious

  • Inflammatory and metabolic patterns may emerge gradually

  • Sleep, stress and recovery may begin influencing multiple body systems

  • Several small changes may matter more together than any one result does alone

The goal of the Living Method Physical is not to diagnose disease that is not present. It is to look for patterns, trends and areas moving away from optimal health while there is still time to pay attention.

Normal is not always good enough:

A laboratory value may be technically normal while still becoming less favorable over time.

A single result may seem unimportant on its own but become more meaningful when considered alongside sleep, cognition, waist circumference, blood pressure, physical performance, family history and other measurement changes.  Our model is designed to recognize these relationships.

More than 160 health data points:

  • Your one-day assessment combines information from several areas of health.

  • Detailed health questionnaire

  • More than 100 questionnaire variables explore:

  • Personal and family medical history

  • Cognitive concerns

  • Metabolic health

  • Sleep quality and sleep-disorder risk

  • Cardiovascular risk

  • Physical activity and recovery

  • Nutrition and lifestyle

  • Stress and adverse childhood experiences

  • Hormonal symptoms

  • Energy and cellular health

  • Environmental exposures

  • Purpose, connection and resilience

  • Preventive-health engagement

  • Readiness for change

  • Advanced blood and urine testing

Your laboratory assessment evaluates major areas associated with long-term health, including:

  • Glucose and insulin regulation

  • Cholesterol and cardiovascular risk

  • Inflammatory patterns

  • Immune-cell balance

  • Kidney and liver health

  • Thyroid function

  • Nutrient status

  • Hormonal factors when clinically appropriate

  • Urine and early kidney-health markers

  • Testing may be individualized according to age, sex, symptoms, medical history and current medications.

  • Tier 2 and Tier 3 testing includes advanced neuroinflammation and environmental toxin assessments.

Neurocognitive testing objectively assesses important areas of cognitive performance, including:

  • Memory

  • Attention

  • Processing speed

  • Executive function

  • Cognitive flexibility

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • PTSD

This creates a cognitive baseline that can be compared with future results. BrainCheck is a screening and monitoring tool and does not independently diagnose dementia or another neurologic condition.

Physical and functional measurements including:

Your assessment evaluates important indicators of cardiovascular and physical reserve.

A Living Method nurse practitioner completes your physical examination, medication and supplement review, and preventive-health review in advance of your results consultation with Dr. Anvekar.  An EKG is performed when clinically indicated.

  • Blood pressure

  • Resting heart rate

  • Oxygen saturation

  • Waist measurement

  • Heart-rate response to standing

  • Strength

  • Walking speed

  • Lower-body endurance

  • Mobility

  • Balance

  • Recovery

The Living Method patent-pending mathematical model precisely calculates every data point and is not available anywhere else:

Most physicals present each result separately and you leave with a stack of labs.

The Living Method examines how the results work together.

Each data point moves through a proprietary mathematical process:

  • The measurement or response is evaluated.

  • An evidence-informed coefficient reflects its relative importance to long-term health.

  • The result is standardized against appropriate reference information.

  • It is integrated with the other data contributing to the same health domain.

  • The process repeats with every single data point across the complete assessment.

  • Ten Living Method Domain Scores and one overall score are produced to guide your annual health goals and compare to future Domain Scores to keep your health on track.

Your 10 Living Method Domain Scores:

You receive concrete scores across:

  • Brain

  • Metabolic

  • Sleep

  • Cardiovascular

  • Physical Function

  • Inflammation

  • Hormonal Health

  • Mitochondrial and Oxidative Stress

  • Purpose and Reserve

  • Risk and Health Engagement

Follow your health—not just your test results

A single assessment shows where you stand today. Repeating the Living Method Physical annually allows you to see:

  • Which scores are improving

  • Which scores are stable

  • Which areas are beginning to change

  • Whether your health efforts are producing measurable progress

  • Where additional evaluation may be worth considering

Your first assessment creates the baseline.

Each future assessment adds another point to your personal health trajectory.  That makes the Living Method Physical especially valuable for younger, healthy adults: you establish your baseline before age, illness or medication significantly changes it.

Your results meeting with Dr. Anvekar will review:

  • Your 10 Living Method Domain Scores

  • Biological-age estimate

  • Cognitive baseline

  • Laboratory patterns

  • Physical-performance results

  • Areas that appear strong

  • Areas that may deserve attention during the coming year
